Kaspersky Installation Stopped in the Middle Due to An Error

Both Kaspersky Internet Security and Antivirus have suffered from common issues. There are some complications and errors that can prevent the installation of the program. Most of the time, you can get rid of the installation problem after restarting your system. But in case the problem remains same and you get an error saying “Installation Interrupted- Installation ended prematurely because of an error” then you can try the given solutions:

  1. Traces of Another Security Package Halting the Installation: If there is another security program already installed in your PC then you might have to face installation problem. You can install a removal tool to get rid of the leftover antivirus program if you know which software is causing the issue. In fact, if you have a previous version of Kaspersky product in your system, then get rid of that too. You can even visit Kaspersky antivirus removal tools webpage to get similar tools. But what will you do if you have no idea which security program is already installed in your PC? In that case, get in touch with our security agents on Kaspersky Help Number UK.

  •  2.  Leftover Registry key of an older version of Kaspersky: A registry key is created when you uninstall a previous version of Kaspersky. If these keys are left behind then follow the given steps to remove them:
    1. •   Go to Start menu and on the Run tab, type regedit and click Ok.
        •  Go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run”.
          •  Expand the run folder to look for registry key avp**_post_uninstall. (In place of ** you will see your Kaspersky version number)
            •  Right-click avp**_post_uninstall and click Delete.

Now you can again try installing Kaspersky product and hopefully this time you won’t get the error.

            3. A System Cache file that contains corrupt information: You can face installation issue because of file INFCACHE.1 which contains corrupted information. To remove this file from Windows Vista and 7 you need to be the owner first. For this, you can download Take Ownership tool to gain ownership of files and folders. Double-click the reg file in the archive to import the data into the registry and then navigate to “C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore”. Now right-click on INFCACHE.1 and select “Take Ownership” and finally delete it. If you are using any other version of Windows operating system then you can Contact us at Kaspersky Support Number UK for assistance.

            4. Incompatible Software is causing the installation problem: Although Kaspersky is known to detect the conflicting programs and installations but in some case it still causes conflict. Sometimes, we forget to delete other antivirus and firewall programs from our PC and these software detects Kaspersky as threats. This is the reason that the user is not able to continue with Kaspersky installation. The best way out from this problem is to completely uninstall any antivirus, firewall, anti-malware or antispyware from your PC and then install Kaspersky. Once you have installed Kaspersky you can again try to install that conflicting program if you need it.
Most probably you will be able to resolve installation issue after following the direction given here, but still, if you need any sort of help from our technical experts then you can connect with them through our toll free helpline.
